Prof. Hakan Leblebicioglu MD, FESCMID
Hakan Leblebicioglu is Professor of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology. He is working at Samsun Liv Hospital, Turkey. He is involved in clinical diagnostic services and infection control programs in Ondokuz Mayis University Hospital. His teaching experience includes clinical seminars and trainings on infectious diseases and postgraduate supervision of fellows. He has conducted workshops and courses in the area of effective communication, presentation skills, proposal and manuscript writing.
He is member of World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), mentor of European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), ESCMID Study Group for Viral Hepatitis (ESGVH), honorary chair and founding member of ESCMID Study Group for Infections in Travellers and Migrants (ESGITM), past president of Infectious Diseases & Clinical Microbiology Specialty Society of Turkey (EKMUD). He serves on WHO CCHF Advisory Group.
Professor Leblebicioglu serves as editor-in-chief in Annals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials and editor of Travel Medicine of Infectious Disease. He also serves as a reviewer for the journals Antiviral Research, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, Emerging Infectious Diseases, Hepatology, Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Journal of Hospital Infection and lancet Infectious Diseases.
He is author of 167 publications in peer-reviewed international medical journals, mainly in the field of infectious diseases, 76 publications in Turkish medical journals, editor of seven books in Turkish and author of six international textbooks. His articles have been cited 3792 times in articles published in journals listed in SCI His H index is 31.
His research interests include Crimean Congo hemorrhagic fever, viral hepatitis and infections in travellers and migrants.
His hobbies include photography and travelling.
He is married and have two sons.
